Hey! We’re actually back on schedule! I’m sure that will change, but we’re on a one week streak. I know one week isn’t really a “streak” but in these troubling times, I’ll take what I can get. My small moral victories aside, let’s take a look at how Brendawn, the Cowboy and I did in Week 2…
Week 2 Records
Blind Owl: 5-11
Concret3Cowboy: 9-7
BrendawnoftheDead: 8-8
Yuck. I suck. But what made things better, my nephew got me a Broncos football with signatures and a nice stand for a belated birthday gift! So cool, and makes me feel better about my dreadful picks. Meanwhile, the boys here continue to be pretty consistent. Will this continue? Or will my awesome gift give me the emotional boost I really need in a contest like this…Find out below with our Week 3 picks!

NE @ NYJ: NYJ -6
Blind Owl: You know what? Aaron Rodgers and the Jets are just douchey enough to lose to the Patriots. They won’t, but it’s possible. This game will be boring. Not a lot of scoring. No I didn’t mean to rhyme. My subconscious poetry aside, I’m taking the Pats to cover here.
Concret3Cowboy: Somebody forgot to make a pick… LOLZ
(I mean who would take the pats, but I’ll take my punishment)
BrendawnoftheDead: The Jets are a better team than the Patriots, let's get that out of the way. They will likely win, they will most certainly finish way above them in the final standings, and there is reason to believe they will efficiently throw the football this season…but not yet. Rogers isn't himself yet and the Jets haven't exactly set the world in fire in the running game. The Patriots have run well and will do so again given the Jets are missing CJ Mosely. It won't be enough to win but they'll control the clock and stay close enough to cover in a relatively uneventful Thursday night game.
DEN @ TB: TB -6
Blind Owl: Even though I just the awesome football from my nephew, the Broncos are just dreadful right now. It’s ok. I think they’re on the upswing. Nix will be fine eventually, but not this week. The Bucs are a good team. The NFC South has turned into a bit of a bloodbath. But it’s this simple, Buccaneers good, Broncos bad. Give me Tampa.
Concret3Cowboy: The Bucs are gonna commit crimes against the Broncos. I don’t know why Sean Payton came out of retirement to coach this roster.
BrendawnoftheDead: Last year I had a fool proof strategy, if you can't score points you can't cover spreads. The broncos can't score points, the bucs can…easy math. TB covers
HOU @ MIN: HOU -2
Blind Owl: Don’t look now, but the Sam Darnold led Vikings are 2-0. My guy Eli at work is rubbing my Darnold slander in my face almost every day. Are they for real? No, they aren’t. Houston is a very good team that just needs some time to come into their own. The Vikings had their fun, but Darnold’s ghosts are going to catch up with him this week. Houston wins big.
Concret3Cowboy: I tend to jump onto the Vikings hype train, albeit it’s been lonely. I’m doing it again even without my Kirk at the helm. That Minnesota defense is playing very well. I don’t care for the Texans.
BrendawnoftheDead: Sam Darnold is a nice story but that won't matter here. Houston is good everywhere, Minnesota is not. Please have a good game Stroud, my fantasy team needs you.
PHI @ NO: NO -2.5
Blind Owl: Screw it, I’m going all in on the Saints. I even went as far as to pick up Derek Carr in fantasy. He’s getting the start and the Saints are going to beat the brakes off the Eagles.
Concret3Cowboy: Who Dat. F the Eagles.
BrendawnoftheDead: Philly is ran by idiots and AJ Brown isn't playing. NO isn't the world beating team their point differential suggests, but they won't beat themselves. I think NO covers even though they've been playing over their head.
BAL @ DAL: DAL -1
Blind Owl: Before the season started, some were saying that this could be a Super Bowl preview. Well, the Ravens have laid an egg so far (I know the pun was awful), and the Cowboys have done what they always do, come out hot, then lose an embarrassing game. I still say, Mike McCarthy knows, or should know, his days are numbered. He can’t afford to lose games. I still say Bill Belichick will be the coach of the Cowboys next year. With that said, this game is a tough one to pick. Neither team has earned any kind of confidence. So I have to go with the home team and pick the Cowboys. The worst part about this game is that I’ll have to suffer through Tom Brady praddling on about nothing on the broadcast. #BringBackOlsen
Concret3Cowboy: Both these teams are larger market Chargers. All the hype but never do anything worthwhile. I think Dallas has the better roster but the Ravens have the better coach. So I’ll go with the better quarterback.. and that’s Dak.
BrendawnoftheDead: The Ravens looked like @$$ last week so they'll come out with something to prove. Derrick Henry is going to prove to Jerry Jones that he should have given him a contract. Also the cowboys are entirely too one dimensional to beat a team like Baltimore. Lamar is going to bounce back to his normal regular season self and Dallas will drop to 1-2.
