2023 Week 11 NFL Picks

As I sit here and try to BS a little intro for this thing, I’m honestly lost for words. There really isn’t much to say. Maybe one of these other dips has something to say. I’ll just sit here and sip my second cup of coffee on this chilly and bright Sunday morning and perhaps make a few comments about how we did in Week 10.

Week 10 Records

Blind Owl: 10-3-1

Concret3Cowboy: 10-3-1

BrendawnoftheDead: 8-5-1

This has honestly been the pattern for the year. Two of us do good and one of us doesn’t do as good. Unfortunately for Brendawn, he seems to be on the “not as good” side of things more often than either the Cowboy or I. Although there is something to be said for an 8-5-1 record being the loser of the week. We are all actually getting pretty good at this. Forget about the 0-13 week that Brendawn posted. How are the totals doing? Let’s see:

Total Records

Blind Owl: 77-65-8

Concret3Cowboy: 75-67-8

BrendawnoftheDead: 73-69-8

Again, not a lot to discuss. I keep my 2 game lead. Brendawn slides back a little but nothing too bad. The biggest takeaway is that I am getting into the Cowboy’s head a little bit. Now that his boy Joey Burrow is out, he may just have a mental breakdown. Hopefully for Brendawn and I, it impacts his ability to make picks. If I were him, I’d go back to asking his daughter to pick the games again…

CIN @ BAL: BAL -3.5

Blind Owl: I’ve been saying for a while that the Bengals aren’t that good. They proved that by losing to the Texans. On the other hand, I said the Ravens were good but then they lost to the Browns. So I’m both right and wrong. It’s like being married. As for the game itself, I have a feeling it’s going to be an old school AFC North bloodbath. So that means it’s going to be close. In a close game, you have to take the points. Give me the Bengals but I wouldn’t be shocked if they get blown out. Also, Gus Edwards will score. Get on the #GusBus with me!! It’s a lot like the other bus you see college girls ride.

Concret3Cowboy: Home team favored on Thursday Night would be the call. But the Owl has a two game lead on me so screw it. Bengals. But if I were you, I’d put money on the Ravens.

BrendawnoftheDead: mmmmm…mmmmm…hmmm… both teams tend to let me down in this silly game. I'm going Bengals only because they're less broken. Also Lamar is fat and happy

MIN @ DEN: DEN -2.5

Blind Owl: A bit of a story here. At work there’s a guy at school who is a big Vikings fan. I made the determination on Monday morning that I wouldn’t speak to him all week. I never told him this was happening and would talk around him when we were in the same room. I’d even use students to talk through if I wanted to give him a message. Well, I did this all week and it took another colleague pointing it out on Thursday for him to consider it. Putting my nonsense aside, let’s get to the game. I will be staying awake for this Sunday night game because Thanksgiving week may be the biggest phone-in job in education. Everyone is talking about Josh Dobbs, and it’s undoubtedly a good story. But unfortunately Cinderella stories like this always come crashing down eventually. And guess what Mr. Dobbs, your run will end in Denver. The Broncos are on a better roll than the VIkings and will get the win here. I’m guessing it’ll be close, but a low scoring affair will be won with a late TD by the Broncos. My boys will do it.

Concret3Cowboy: I secretly root for the Tenn Vols. I’ve liked Dobbs for a while and glad he has a real shot to shine. But not today you bald fucker. The Denver D is back and has made 9 takeaways the last two weeks against Mahomes and Allen Offenses (the latter being somewhat expected). But I am more nervous for this game than I was last week.

BrendawnoftheDead: Both defenses have been good as of late so it comes down to offense. On paper, Denver has more to work with but that's paper. I think they'll get the win but it wouldn't shock me if Dobbs magic wins out. Denver by 3.

PIT @ CLE: CLE -2

Blind Owl: The Browns lost Desean Watson for the year. Thankfully for them, their offense wasn’t what has been winning them games. The Browns D is legit. Couple that with the Steelers just having close game after close game and we’ve got a recipe for an old school slugfest. Not a lot of points are going to be scored. I’ll take the Steelers with the points and just hope they can hang in there.

Concret3Cowboy: excuse me as I get lazy and do a two minute pick em. Browns.

BrendawnoftheDead: no more yinzer BS this week, Browns defense is getting the job done. Watson being out actually helps their cause.

ARI @ HOU: HOU -6

Blind Owl: Houston is on an absolute tear and it carries on today. Texans win big.

Concret3Cowboy: That Houston no name is playing exceptionally well. I hate that small fucker with the forced deep voice. Texans.

BrendawnoftheDead: 6 seems high but I think this is a bad matchup for Kyler Murray. Stroud is going to have a big day and carry my fantasy squad.

TEN @ JAX: JAX -7

Blind Owl: It seems like no matter who I pick in Titans games, I get it wrong. The Jaguars looked like the easy favorites in the beginning of the year to win this division. The Texans had other ideas. Jacksonville betterget their act together or they may not even make the playoffs. Come on Jags. Beat who you are supposed to.

Concret3Cowboy: Jags rebound after their dismantling via 49ers. Cover though? Sure.

BrendawnoftheDead: like the owl, Tennessee gives me fits ats. I think I like Jacksonville to win but 7 is too high for a division game. Tennessee loses by 6 and covers.

LV @ MIA: MIA -13.5

Blind Owl: Sorry Raiders fans. I know you’ve been on kind of a roll under the interim coach, but the Dolphins are on another level. I did pause a little bit when I saw 13.5 points, but it not enough to make me pick the Raiders. Phins all day.

Concret3Cowboy: Raiders stink.

BrendawnoftheDead: The Raiders are a cute story but they don't have the quarterback to keep up or a good enough defense to slow Miami down. Hopefully DeVante gets some garbage time points.

DAL @ CAR: DAL -10

Blind Owl: Dallas is picking up their game. The offense is playing on par with the defense. If only they could score in the red zone. The Panthers are going to get run over. The Dallas collapse is coming, but not this week.

Concret3Cowboy: Dallas is that type of team to roll over inferior teams. Dallas rolls in Carolina.

BrendawnoftheDead: Carolina is about to find out. They have nothing to threaten Dallas with, nothing. I'd take Dallas by 21 but even that seems low. Poor Bryce Young, guy is going to get squished repeatedly.

CHI @ DET: DET -7.5

Blind Owl: The Lions are going to destroy the Bears. It won’t be close. But next week is a different story. Stay tuned for that…

Concret3Cowboy: Lions, as much as I like them I don’t like this spread that much. I couldn’t even explain myself.. It is the Bears.

BrendawnoftheDead: I think I've picked Detroit every week, why stop now?

LAC @ GB: LAC -3

Blind Owl: Ooooh. The Chargers are a road favorite. This is traditionally where they fall flat and blow a big lead. But not today. They’re going to win big. Just like the Cowboys, the collapse is coming soon. I think Dallas and LA are two big options for Bill belichick’s next landing spot after he leaves New England.

Concret3Cowboy: Chargers stink. But the Packers stink more.

BrendawnoftheDead: This is more about Green Bay being straight garbage than LA being good. Jordan Love stinks and they won't be able to keep pace. LA by a bunch.

NYG @ WAS: WAS -8.5

Blind Owl: The Giants may be the worst team I’ve seen in a long time. I’m seeing people on social media saying some college teams could beat them. I don’t think that’s true, but they are bad. Washington is halfway decent though. Sam Howell looks good. I’ll ride with the Commanders in a beat down.

Concret3Cowboy: Oh how the Giants have fallen. Who knows what’s happening up there, was last year really just a fluke? Washington it is.

BrendawnoftheDead: I have a rule, you can't pick a team that can't score points. The Giants cannot score points. Commies it is.

TB @ SF: SF -12

Blind Owl: Let’s go for a little gamesmanship here. The Cowboy is going to pick the Bucs. The only question is will I pick with him just to keep things even, or do I pick against him? It’s still a little early to play these games, and Brendawn is still within striking distance. I think San Fran will beat the Bucs down. They’ve seem to right the ship and Tampa doesn’t have the fire power to keep up.

Concret3Cowboy: Tampa Bay, the Owl is right.

BrendawnoftheDead: I don't know about 12, seems excessive. They are the far superior team but Tampa is scrappy. I like the Bucs but they're on the road…San Fran gets it done. The Bucs defense gave up all the points to Houston, it could happen again.

NYJ @ BUF: BUF -7

Blind Owl: Holy crap has Buffalo been disappointing. They can’t beat anyone. They even lost to the Patriots and the Broncos. That’s embarrassing. The Jets are what they are. They can’t score. It’s hard to pick a team that can’t score points. I’ll hesitantly take the Bills, but they’re on thin ice. I know they have it in them, but they might have lost the magic.

Concret3Cowboy: Oof, the Jets did win in week 1 and the Bills just don’t like having the football. I like the Jets to keep it close.

BrendawnoftheDead: The Jets can't score points. Rules are rules

SEA @ LAR: LAR -1

Blind Owl: Matthew Stafford seems to be back in the lineup this week. That’s bad news for the Seahawks. He’s not what he used to be, but he isn’t washed up by any stretch. Geno Smith is back to where he should be, and Cooper Kupp is playing. Give me the Rams.

Concret3Cowboy: Rams ran over the Hawks in week 1. I don’t see the same thing happening but I do like the Rams to win.

BrendawnoftheDead: The Rams are not a good team, the Seahawks are halfway decent. The rams are entirely too one dimensional, not the case for Seattle. Taking the Seahawks by more than 1.

PHI @ KC: KC -2.5

Blind Owl: Another late game on a Monday night that I may actually be awake for. The Super Bowl rematch is going to be the game of the week in my opinion. Both teams will score. It all comes down to who can make that one stop. It would be wise to take the points, but it all comes back to this being a competition. I have to pick the Chiefs knowing that the Cowboy is going to take the Eagles. Like my guy VD says on Twitter, I know ball, the Cowboy doesn’t.

Concret3Cowboy: Philly has a few injuries, while KC seemed to get back on track after losing to Denver. I like KC’s defense more, it hurts but you gotta try to be bipartisan.

BrendawnoftheDead: I can see this being a shootout but the Chiefs have less weapons at their disposal. Cover Kelce, win the game. Just no more Taylor Swift please. Fly eagles?
