2022 Week 10 NFL Picks

Wow. We are pretty deep into the 2022 season. Week 10 is upon us, and if you asked me, I think the Cowboy, Brendawn and I are getting worse at this. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the records from Week 9:

Week 9 Records:

Blind Owl: 4-6-2

Concret3Cowboy: 6-4-2

BrendawnoftheDead: 4-6-2

Not great huh? But you have to give credit where it’s due, the Cowboy had a big 2 game win. It wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win. We were close in the standings, so any clear win could create serious distance. Let;s see if that happened.

Total Records:

Blind Owl: 59-70-5

Concret3Cowboy: 62-67-5

BrendawnoftheDead: 58-71-5

It’s not a huge gap, but the Cowboy has a 3 game lead on me and a 4 game lead on Brendawn. But let’s not forget last year, the Cowboy is known for being a very up and down picker. Meanwhile, Brendawn and I are a tad more level. Will the Cowboy be able to extend his lead? Or will Brendawn or I make a big move as we get later and later in the season? Find out in our picks Week 10 in the NFL:

ATL @ CAR: ATL -2.5

Blind Owl: Ah yes. TNF at its finest. A terrible divisional matchup is par for the course. That being said, the NFC south is actually up for grabs. All the teams in that division are terrible. Tom Brady is on his way out but I still think the Bucs will take that division. The Falcons are going to win this game with a boring score like 16-9.

Concret3Cowboy: This is a good Thursday night game, the Owl may disagree. He’s made his rules, in his book any and everything Thursday night game has to be awful. This game though, is going to be a good old fashion divisional slugfest. Atlanta beat the Panthers just a few weeks ago in an overtime game, thanks to a missed PAT but that's ok. Then the Panthers went and got dogwalked by the Bengals last week. As for Atlanta they just got beat at home by the Chargers. What makes this game more interesting is remnants of Hurricane Nicole are going to make the weather at gametime very nasty. Carolina is already under tornado watches until 1 am. For this reason, I am going with Carolina to cover and maybe even win here. They’re the tougher football team, have a better run game and a stronger defense… I was also the only one who picked em last time and they covered the road.

EDIT: I was the first one to post my pick and both these chooms went against me, so are they desperate to close the gap or do they have zero respect for the 1st place holder? (Editor’s Note: We have no respect for his ability to pick)

BrendawnoftheDead: Two evenly matched teams fighting for supremacy in the worst division in football… I think Carolina is done though. PJ Walker had a QB rating of ZERO last week and he started over Baker Mayfield for a reason. Atlanta is bad but at least they have some stability at QB. When in doubt, pick the better signal caller. Atlanta covers.

DEN @ TEN: TEN -2.5

Blind Owl: I had a great break from having to pick a game with my Broncos in it. Unfortunately I have to pick this one. WIlson is bad, and the Titans hung in with the Chiefs last week. So I’ll take the Titans to cover.

Concret3Cowboy: I wonder if Wilson did high knees on the plane ride over to Tennessee like he did for that London game. I’m not buying the Broncos, much like the local media and fan base is. Wilson is the problem, but that’s also Hackett’s fault for not getting him prepared. Wilson hasn’t looked good outside that second half against a bad Jacksonville team. I do like Denver’s defense (a lot) but that’s the way it’s been the last 8 years. I’m going to actually take Denver here, the Titans offense is awful and I don’t see this defense letting Henry take it over. Whoever plays QB for the Titans still has zero options to throw it to. Coming off a feel good bye, maybe this Denver offense has some things figured out.

BrendawnoftheDead: Russell Wilson is not only a bust in Denver, but might be the biggest hardo currently on an NFL roster. It was cute when you were among the league leaders in passing, but now you just look like a tool. King Henry will be serving up executions like it's 1543 and Tennessee will cover.

SEA @ TB: TB -3

Blind Owl: I’ve been burned by picking both of these teams this year. I really have no confidence here. Tampa is favored so I should pick Seattle just to have the points, but something is telling me the Bucs will travel better than the Seahawks. A west coast team had to fly all the way to Germany for a game. Seattle is 9 hours behind Munich. That’s a big difference. I’ll hesitantly pick Tampa here.

Concret3Cowboy: The Bucs beat a bad Rams team. Woo? Seattle has a pretty solid squad. That flight to Germany, a lot closer to Tampa (I don’t imagine the Seahawks flew over Russia). Outside of that though, I think the Seahawks do pretty good in this one.

BrendawnoftheDead: It's not that I particularly believe in Seattle, it's just that Tampa Bay can't score. Brady isn't the problem, but he's not good enough to mask every offensive deficiency anymore (and there are MANY). Taking Seattle because I have more faith in them to get in the end zone.

MIN @ BUF: BUF -3.5

Blind Owl: Oof. The one thing that could really derail the Bills season has happened. Josh Allen is hurt. I don’t care if he plays or not, that injury is going to be a factor. Obviously, if he doesn’t play it’s a totally different game. If he does play, will he be himself? If he’s in, and I’m a Vikings defender, his arm is getting hit on EVERY possible play. That being said, I’ll take the Vikes with the points either way.

Concret3Cowboy: It would be a real bummer if this Allen injury does affect the rest of his career. Dude is fun to watch. Feels like something that would happen to Buffalo. Minnesota is my squad for the NFC. Vikings, unconfidently.

BrendawnoftheDead: I have justified many a Bills picks just by saying Josh Allen. Well, he's rather hurt, which is a big problem. He is the heart and soul of that team and losing him will be devastating. If he does play, he's going to be severely compromised. Minnesota covers by being healthy.

DET @ CHI: CHI -3

Blind Owl: Gross. The less said about this game the better. Bears I guess.

Concret3Cowboy: Lions are underdogs, you know the rules.

BrendawnoftheDead: Detroit is what we thought they were. Chicago isn't good but has enough of a defense to make the occasional stop, which is more than I can say for the Lions. Chicago by Justin Fields running his @$$ off.

JAX @ KC: KC -9.5

Blind Owl: I think this game was designed to trap the Cowboy into picking the Jags. It’s like the editor-in-chief (me) designed it to catch up. So I’ll take the Chiefs. Even though the big spread is a tad worrisome.

Concret3Cowboy: Jacksonville because I hate the Chiefs and I have a three game lead so I can do something dumb.

BrendawnoftheDead: I don't like big spreads unless it's a super bowl contender going against a scrub… I refuse to play video games with my friend. I would if I ever had a free moment… doing this while pooping

Praise the sacred throne… hail

CLE @ MIA: MIA -3.5

Blind Owl: Tua’s in, I pick. But the Browns are going to get a little rub next week. Watson is going to be back.

Concret3Cowboy: Browns do not have a secondary. Miami has a solid tandem in their receiving core. Cleveland did well against Cincy before their bye but Cincinnati has a horrible offensive line. Miami’s offense is solid all around.

BrendawnoftheDead: I'm leaving the above as is, it warrants no further explanation. Anyway, Cleveland can't keep up with Miami. Fins win by a TD

HOU @ NYG: NYG -5

Blind Owl: *Insert random fanboy thing about Davis Miles* or Miles Davis or Charles Davis or Ray Charles … Ahh, blind stuff.

For the record I didn’t write that first part, but I like it. I hate the Texans. They’re ruining Davis Mills. The Giants have decided to have a good season just when the Eagles decided to do better. Both teams will probably lose in their first playoff game though. G-Men all the way here.

Concret3Cowboy: The Owl is clearly racist. He loves Davis Mills but hates Trey Lance and Justin Fields. Davis Mills won’t do enough to win this game but what about cover? I don’t think so.

BrendawnoftheDead: Houston will try hard and fail like always. Loveable losers but losers nonetheless. The Giants lost their last outing but will get back on track here.

NO @ PIT: NO -1.5

Blind Owl: Hopefully, with the Patriots on bye, this game is on TV. It’s going to be bad. The Saints have a good defense and the Steeler have a bad offense. I’m sensing a 12-6 game. All field goals all the time. I’ll take the Saints.

Concret3Cowboy: The Saints defense is really good. Part of the reason the Saints made Denis Allen the head coach was for this to happen. The offense however, not too good but Dalton has been serviceable this season. Like the Saints here and it’s a low spread.

BrendawnoftheDead: PUTRID. The Steelers are putrid. I'd likely pick lions to beat them if ever they play. New Orleans isn't good either, but they're at least an NFL team. NO wins easy

IND @ LV: LV -6

Blind Owl: Imagine being mad one of the smartest players in franchise history is your interim head coach…Jeff Saturday was a good hire to keep everyone else in their own role. Unfortunately for the Colts, that means everyone is still in their own role. The offense was uglier than that time the Cowboy punted the ball backwards in a JV game sophomore year. I have to ride with the Raiders even though I don’t like picking them either.

Concret3Cowboy: I really want to take the Colts because everyone is upset that an ex-Colt All-pro got an interim head coaching job… for the Colts… and it is somehow robbing people of an opportunity… so Colts it is.

BrendawnoftheDead: Both squads are disappointing trainwrecks. Pre-season playoff favorites have become basement dwellers. Reich just lost his job, so McDaniels might not be far behind him. Look for the Raiders to win but not cover, so nobody really wins.

DAL @ GB: DAL -4.5

Blind Owl: This spread should be 45, not 4.5. Dallas by a ton. Bench Rodgers. And as I said, I won’t pick Green Bay again this year.

Concret3Cowboy: God, I don’t like Dallas but Green Bay has been one of the most disappointing teams this season. Which does give me hope with Hackett in Denver, this offense has sucked since he and Adams left. So Big Mike with Big D in this one.

BrendawnoftheDead: what happens to a team that spends all of its money on a single player? You get the Packers, a hopeless team going nowhere fast. Rodgers has no one to throw to, but that's 100% his own fault. Dallas will win because they were slightly less dumb in regards to budgeting.

ARI @ LAR: LAR -1.5

Blind Owl: I picked both these teams last week and if you saw above, it didn’t go well. I guess I have to pick the Cardinals with the point and a half and hope for a shootout.

Concret3Cowboy: The Rams are bad, maybe Von Miller saw this coming and that’s why he wasn’t too inclined to go back to LA. This is the worst super bowl hangover I can think of. I mean Denver after Super Bowl 50 was bad but at least they had to replace Peyton Manning. I don’t trust Arizona but I’m feeling them for this pick.

BrendawnoftheDead: Kingsbury should get axed, Murray should never have received that contact, and my dumb ass shouldn't have taken a flyer in him in fantasy. For the reasons laid out, I pick the Rams.

LAC @ SF: SF -7

Blind Owl: That spread looked big when I first saw it. Then I realized the Chargers aren’t going to have their best 2 receivers. Is Herbert going to throw it to himself? I’ll ride with the most handsome backfield in the NFL, Jimmy G and Christian McCaffrey.

Concret3Cowboy: 7 points is a lot. What do the books see that I don’t? Are they that high on Christian? Now, the Chargers defense has been as bad as gas station sushi. Williams and Allen are going to miss this game. I’ll take the 9ers.

BrendawnoftheDead: I don't think I understand this spread. San Francisco is incredibly inconsistent and the Chargers can score a lot of points. They might get the victory, but I don't think the 49ers cover. I don't trust them to win in a blowout.

WAS @ PHI: PHI -11

Blind Owl: Trap game alert. I’m not saying the Eagles are going to lose, but 11 is a big spread for a divisional game. Heinicke isn’t bad, and has a tendency to just kind of hang around in these games. Washington will cover this big spread.

Concret3Cowboy: Philly screwed a lot of people when they let Houston cover last week. It was a short week and Houston just pulled themselves off the pavement from the bulldozing done by Henry with the Titans. I’m not taking the commanders here though, Philly has had some extra time to prepare for their sad, pathetic, sorry ass divisional opponent in Washington.

BrendawnoftheDead: Philly will win but this spread is a tall order. The Commanders look much better with Heinicke and the Eagles struggled with Houston for a hot minute. Philly wins but doesn't cover.
