2021 Week 11 NFL Picks

It’s a beautiful mid-November day in Massachusetts. I’m counting my blessings because in years past, there’s been snow on the ground, and today is supposed to reach the mid-60s. Meanwhile, down in Florida, it’s a toasty 76 degrees. Did Concret3Cowboy’s Week 10 performance match the weather down there? Let’s take a look and see:

Week 10 Results:

Blind Owl: 4-10

Concret3Cowboy: 5-9

Well, it isn’t Florida hot, but the Cowboy got a win this week. I’m not ashamed to say it, he beat me fair and square. I bet he is feeling pretty great right now. Riding high after a MASSIVE one game win. How did that impact the overall standings you ask, well have a look for yourself:

Totals:

Blind Owl: 77-71-2

Concret3Cowboy: 63-85-2

With all the smack talk I’ve had to endure this week, I just have one word for the Cowboy, SCOREBOARD. At this rate, to catch me, the Cowboy would have to hope Roger Goodell extends the NFL season from 17 weeks to 24. Knowing how much Goodell loves money, that isn’t an impossible thought. But, the sign of a true champion is being able to rebound from a loss. It’s easy to be a front runner, but this is where I can really show my mental toughness. Let’s see if I can stop the bleed before it starts, or if the Cowboy can ride this one game tidal wave of momentum in Week 11.

NE @ ATL: NE -7

Blind Owl: I’ll say it. I was wrong last week. I didn’t think Mac Jones could hang with the Cleveland offense. I should’ve known the Browns were going to do Browns-like things. Well now I know Mac can hang. He and the Pats will cover against the Falcons easily here. It will be a bit of a let down after that demolition of the Browns, but it’ll be a big win.

Concret3Cowboy: The Pats have really come around as a team the last month. They didn't start the season too hot but their off-season additions have been doing their job. As for this Thursday night game, we're going to hear alot about 28-3 and the Falcons have not recovered from that Super Bowl.

SF @ JAX: SF -6.5

Blind Owl: San Fran has been up and down. They put up big numbers against a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the Rams. The Jags have just been down. Jimmy G has been good for the 49ers and that continues here. Easy win.

Concret3Cowboy: Half tempted to take Jacksonville here. But I dont like Urban Meyer and I really don't care for Trevor Lawrence. Plus, the 49ers just beat the loaded Rams team. 6.5 is a big spread for a running football team though, traveling across the country after a big win can turn into a letdown. Screw it, I've talked myself into taking the Jags.

WFT @ CAR: CAR -3.5

Blind Owl: The Football Team showe up against the defending Super Bowl champs and Carolina put a hurting on the Kyler-less Cardinals. Cam Newton, of course, scored a TD and made it about himself. Not the fact that he has been reduced to a gadget player on a bad team. I think Washington will probably lose, but it’ll be close. Give me the points.

Concret3Cowboy: The Falcons have not recovered from their Super Bowl loss, and neither have the Panthers, especially Cam Newton. It does feel good for Cam to be back in Carolina blue. The Panthers do have a good roster, they’re better off with Cam than Sam Darnold is trashcan booty butt. Washington did just beat the Bucs, but they lost Chase Young for the season. The biggest thing about this game is Riverboat Ron going against his old QB. A lot has happened since they were together but I’m expecting a nice bro hug after the game is over.

GB @ MIN: GB -2.5

Blind Owl: Seeing what’s going on in the NFC, the Packers are perfectly situated for a deep playoff run. The momentum rolls on against a Minnesota team that isn’t too bad themselves. They beat the Chargers who are on a deep slide. Unfortunately Aaron Rodgers is going to light them up. It’ll be a bit of a shootout, so in your fantasy leagues start Vikings and Packers, but Green Bay will win by a TD.

Concret3Cowboy: I can't remember a time when a team had such a piss poor defense but then that defense completely turned around like this Packers defense has. The Vikings have lost a lot of close games, but I really don't see them keeping pace with the Packers. Aaron Rodgers had some rust and tight muscles in his return from covid but expect that offense to be more efficient, and have you seen AJ Dillion? Dude's a tank.

DET @ CLE: CLE -10

Blind Owl: I had the misfortune of watching every snap of that drubbing put on the Browns by the Patriots. Apparently Cleveland forgot they could run the ball after the first drive. Anyway, they get a good chance to shake off that beating by putting a beating of their own on the Lions. Who will seemingly do anything, including tying, but win.

Concret3Cowboy: The Browns STINK! Lions also stink. The lions are going to run all over Cleveland, mark my words. The Browns have a small front seven on their defensive front. The big thing is, is Tim Boyle going to play well? My response to that is, does Goff play well? How much worse can it be. I like the Lions to cover.

IND @ BUF: BUF -7

Blind Owl: I still can’t forget that 9-6 loss the Bills had to the Jags. Even after they took the Jets to the woodshed. The Colts on the other hand just beat the Jets. So if my logic is correct, that means the Colts will beat the Bills right? Like most times, my logic is wrong. I’ll take Buffalo.

Concret3Cowboy: Either the Bills win by 21+ or they won't cover. Jonathan Taylor is proving himself to be a top-3 running back. The Colts started off as bad as you could and have put themselves in quite the hole trying to make the playoffs. The Bills also need to be careful with the Pats coming into contention for the AFC East crown. The Bills have to take that next step if they really want to make a run at the Super Bowl.

NO @ PHI: PHI -1.5

Blind Owl: Philly put hands on my Broncos last week, but who hasn’t at this point. It’s become embarrassing if we’re being honest. New Orleans is riding high after a win over Tennessee. I just can’t stick with New Orleans. They’re way too inconsistent. Not that Philly is the epitome of consistency. I like Philly’s offense a lot more than the Saints, so I’ll take the E-A-G-L-E-S.

Concret3Cowboy: Philly isn't as bad as people think, especially the last 3 or 4 games. They've reignited their running game and that takes the world off of Jalen Hurts. New Orleans also has a pretty solid squad, this could actually be the game of the week.

MIA @ NYJ: MIA -3

Blind Owl: This is a battle for the bottom of the AFC East. I honestly think this has potential to be a decently horrible football game to watch. The Jets got slapped by the Bills, but who hasn’t (other than the Jags). Miami got a big win over Baltimore on Thursday Night Football and are looking to keep things going here. They’ll do so by beating the Jets.

Concret3Cowboy:Joe Flacco?

BAL @ CHI: BAL -1.5

Blind Owl: Speaking of the Ravens, here they are in another game they should win. Do I need to mention my distaste for Ohio State QBs again? I won’t rehash that, but if the Ravens don’t help me out here, I may be done with them. I don’t care that Lamar Jackson is out. I’m sticking with them. Justin Tucker should win this for them.

Concret3Cowboy: Nagy stinks. Hollywood Brown is out for the game and Lamar Jackson has been sick for some time, enough for it to be on the injury report. So here is my reach of the week. Bears cover.Nagy stinks. Hollywood Brown is out for the game and Lamar Jackson has been sick for some time, enough for it to be on the injury report. So here is my reach of the week. Bears cover.

HOU @ TEN: TEN -10

Blind Owl: I know you all missed it, but it’s BACK!! I don’t trust the Titans mostly because they lost to the Jets, but Houston is TERRIBLE. Go Titans.

Concret3Cowboy: Houston stinks. Tennessee doesn't stink. Even without Derrick Henry it seems the Titans aren’t dead in the water.

CIN @ LV: CIN -1

Blind Owl: You see, the only reason I picked the Raiders last week was because I knew the Cowboy was going to. He may just pick against the Chiefs every week from now on. That being said, I was not impressed with Vegas. They draw another tough opponent in the Bengals, who I’m picking not only because I think they’ll win, but because the Cowboy’s disturbing obsession with LSU won’t let him go two weeks without talking about Joe Burrow.

Concret3Cowboy: Cincinnati will probably lose just because I'm picking them. Remember when the Bengals were the top seed in the AFC? Well it only lasted a week so I wouldn't blame you if you don't. I still like the striped squad but their youth shows in their inconsistent play.

DAL @ KC: KC -2.5

Blind Owl: Ahhhhhh. We’ve come to the Chiefs. Everyone and their brother knows the Cowboy isn’t going to pick KC. Especially when they’re playing a good team. So I’m just going to go with the numbers and pick Dallas so he can’t catch me. But I do actually like Dallas in this game.

Concret3Cowboy: How is KC favored? They had one good game and all of them are jumping back on after calling them dead all season? Jackson Mahomes must not be going to the game.

ARI @ SEA: ARI -2.5

Blind Owl: A shutout? In 2021? That’s unheard of. How does that happen with an “elite” QB like Russell Wilson? Making this pick on Thursday night makes me a tad nervous because who knows how Kyler Murray is. I think I’m blinded (even more) by my hatred of the Seahawks to pick them. The Cardinals will win this game.

Concret3Cowboy: Wow was Arizona bad without Kyler Murray and D Hop. And Kyler won't be playing against the Seahawks. Give me the ugly sea chickens.

PIT @ LAC: LAC -5.5

Blind Owl: I know the Chargers keep losing, but it’s not often I get to bet against an NFL player I actually coached against. Not to mention the Steelers tied the Lions. Easy to bet against that. Chargers all the way.

Concret3Cowboy: The spread didn't change when Big Ben got cleared from covid. I think that tells you about all you need to know.

NYG @ TB: TB -11

Blind Owl: Alright folks, let’s do a deep dive into the mentality of my opponent here. I know I mentioned that Concret3Cowboy hates the Chiefs, but there might be one thing he hates more. That thing is Tom Brady. Why you might ask? Because he loves Peyton Manning. So I know he’ll take any time to jump on the anti-Brady bandwagon. I have to take advantage of his emotions. I guarantee he picks the Giants to cover like he did against KC a few weeks back on MNF. But that won’t happen. The Bucs will win HUGE.

Concret3Cowboy: My reaches on Monday night games have actually gone really well this season for me. So let's do it again. The Bucs without much doubt will bury the Giants. But, I'd like them not to.
